So busy....

Things have gotten really busy here! Summer hit hard core with high humidity and lots of rain. We have had mudslides and flooding and a mess in the fields. Luckily our garden seems have been spared the worst of it. Our carrots aren't doing well and our radishes topped out.

The peas are doing great though and we will have a bumper crop! The corn is doing well too though I wish we had planted more. If the tomatoes grow, we will have more than we know what to do with!

On another note, we had a rummage sale a few weeks ago and did really well! I'm also working on some projects around the house finally.

We got through Princess Pea's dance recital, Syttende Mai, and Cookie Monster's graduation without a hitch and now I have taken a few weeks off. Soon I will be back with more pictures and updates!

Until then, ere are a few pictures of day to day life and spring in the valley to hold you over until I can get back and post proper like!

God's Blessings!

Another weekend winding down...

Wow, hard to believe that another weekend is winding down. It has been so busy once again! We have had dance recital, birthday party, state solo and ensemble, and a band concert. Throw in a couple of visits from family members, laundry, and some gardening, and you have one very tired Mama, but I wouldn't miss it for the world!
Friday night my Dad and his wife stopped by to discuss the house and some alternatives. Unfortunately at this time the Credit Union won't give a loan on the house because there are some issues that need to be corrected first. They stayed for an hour or so and while they were here my oldest brother and his youngest son stopped by for cookies! I love that this house is still a gathering spot for them. My nephew said that we made his whole day just by him coming here. What a warming moment for my heart!
Saturday morning Princess Pea and I went to watch Cookie Monster at State Solo and Ensemble. He was in woodwind choir, polka band and had a soprano sax solo. I haven't heard what rating they got but I am so proud of his accomplishments in band!

After his performances, we made a mad dash for home to get ready for Princess Pea's dance recital. Big day for the girls. They worked so hard all year long for this one moment. She was in 5 dances, all different styles. It was a fantastic show and I am so proud of her! Every year they do a ballet for the first half of the recital and all the other styles of dance are after the intermission. This year was Neverland and she got to be one of Hook's pirates. The dance even included a choreographed sword fight! It was awesome!

Costumes waiting....

After recital it was home for a quick costume change to jeans and sweatshirts before heading to my brother's house for a cookout and campfire for my nephew's 23 birthday. I love spending time with family. Always lots of laughter and good times! We had burgers and brats cooked over the campfire and had ice cream cake for dessert! Yummy!  But by the time I got home, I was ready for a Tylenol PM for my headache and my nice soft comfy bed.

Princess Pea and her cousin...I think they missed each other!

Honey let me sleep in this morning. I must have needed it since I slept for over 12 hours and never heard a thing. Once I got up and got moving I got out and enjoyed the day!  What a perfect day! Sunny and about 65°. Honey and I did a lot of yard work. I was able to get a few flower beds cleaned out and my peas planted! So excited. I also played with Luna until she was completely worn out!

Now tonight it is off to Cookie Monster's Band Finale Concert honoring the seniors. It is his final concert as a high school student. That makes for some mixed feelings for this Mama! I am so proud of all he has accomplished in band and love to watch and hear him play. But I am so sad to see this chapter of his life coming to an end. I know that growing up and moving on is the natural order of life but for so many years it has been just the kids and I and its going to be so hard to let him go.
Well that about wraps up our weekend activities. I know I haven't been posting regularly but with the craziness of life its hard to be consistent. I hope you enjoyed catching up with me, I needed the time to catch my breath!  Love to you all and God's Blessings!
